“Ye shall be witnesses unto me” is a set of Primary Lesson helps full of fun handouts! This lesson includes visuals and ideas to help you plan and teach your primary class this Sunday!
Come Follow Me Primary Lesson Helps- July 1-7th-Acts 1-5
I want to begin by introducing the main themes in this weeks CFM manual. These are the ideas you are teaching to your primary students on Sunday. I will have plenty of ideas to help you teach these concepts! But feel free to use your own inspiration for any of the topics below! The lesson themes this week include:
- Jesus Christ leads His Church through prophets and apostles.
- Heavenly Father can bless others through me.
- I can be honest.
Ye Shall be Witnesses unto me-Lesson outline
If you have been around for any amount of time you know I always start my lesson helps with a lesson outline. This outline includes actual questions and prompts I encourage you to ask your class. They will cover the 3 topics I just mentioned above. They also will include the scriptural references to each of the questions asked.
While there are 3 main points to cover this week, I encourage you to pick one as your focus and then lightly touch on the other 2 if you have the time to do so. Keep in mind there are only about 20 minutes of class time so plan accordingly.
Lesson Idea #1
Now I would like
Play a matching game with two sets of pictures of the living First Presidency and Twelve Apostles. When a match is made, share the Apostle or President’s name and something about him.
You may remember these apostles cards from THIS lesson a few months back! I have modified them so that you can easily print them off and play the matching game! You might consider printing the full version I shared in March with the BIO on each card. That way you can share facts as you play!
Lesson Idea #2
Next I have a really simple scripture story printable. This is great to help you share the story of the man who couldn’t walk. It goes along with the following CFM prompt:
Invite the children to do actions that go along with the story in Acts 3:1–10, such as putting out their hands for money and leaping for joy. How did Heavenly Father bless the man who couldn’t walk?
Lesson Idea #3
Lesson idea #3 is a fun scenario game you can play with your class I got it from the following CFM idea:
Use paper-bag puppets to act out simple situations in which someone is being honest or dishonest. Ask the children to stand up if the person was being honest or sit on the floor if the person was being dishonest.
I am only providing the “choose the right” scenarios it is up to you if you choose to make the paper puppets.
Lesson Idea #4 “I can be Honest”
The following idea I have for you is a little book of the scripture story of Ananias and Sapphira. It comes from the following prompt:
Help the children act out the story of Ananias and Sapphira. Explain that although we won’t die when we tell a lie, this story shows how important being honest is to Heavenly Father.
Lesson Idea #5
For the final lesson idea this week I have a simple coloring page. This is inspired by this CFM prompt:
On the back of a picture of Jesus, tape small pictures of things a prophet might teach about, like baptism or a temple. Let each child take a turn looking at one of the pictures and telling the rest of the class, “The prophet teaches us about [the topic on the picture].
I have created a picture showing different ways the prophets teach us. Use it as a visual aid and have your class guess or explain how the different images represent ways our prophets teach us.
Ye Shall Be Witnesses unto me-Lesson Conclusion
I hope the above 5 lesson ideas help you teach a wonderful and engaging lesson this week! I always love to hear any feedback you may have so be sure to share how your class goes!! If you have a moment before you leave please pin the image below! this is a great way to support Ministering Simply and share this idea with others! Thank you so much!
