Come Follow Me Primary Lesson July 15-21 Acts 10-15-The Word of God Grew and Multiplied
The Word of God Grew and Multiplied- Main Points
Before we dive into the lesson activities I have come up with for the week lets talk about the main teaching objectives. These are just the bold heading texts in your Come Follow me Manual. I always like to share these before we get going! This way you know that you need to teach. It will also help you put together how the lesson helps I am sharing with the different objectives! This week the teaching objectives are:
- Heavenly Father loves all His children
- God is no respecter of persons
- I am a Christian because I believe in and follow Jesus Christ
- A Christian is someone who believes and follows Christ
- Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers
- When I pray in faith, Heavenly Father will answer.
If you feel a little overwhelmed by the any of the lesson objectives don’t worry! This post is dedicated to giving you simple and effective teaching tools to teach your primary class. The ideas I am sharing to day will be fun and simple with little prep work on your end! Lets get started!
Question and Prompts-Lesson Outline
I always begin with the lesson outline. This is a literal question and prompt sheet that you can use to lead your class discussion and lesson. The questions are almost always follow by scripture references. This way you can ask a question to engage your class, but then back up the answer with the scripture answer. I use this exact outline each week with my own primary class! It keeps me on track and helps me teach the lesson objectives and not stray too far from the path!

Lesson Idea #1-God is no respecter of persons
The first idea I have for you this week will help you teach your class “Heavenly Father loves all his Children” or “God is no respecter of persons”
I got this idea from the following prompt in your CFM (come follow me) manual:
Invite the children to share something unique about someone else in the class. Explain that the statement “God is no respecter of persons” means that Heavenly Father loves all His children, and because He loves them, He wants all of His children to hear the gospel.

You can use the coloring page I illustrated of “paper dolls” to show that we are all different yet God loves us all the same.
Lesson Idea #2 -We are all different like the colors in a rainbow
The second Idea is super simple! It is a printable rainbow with the following quote: ” Heavenly Father loves each of his children no matter what they look like or where they are from”. you could use this as a handout or put it on display to help further share this lesson objective with your class.
Just like the rainbow many different colors are needed to create a rainbow. We need different types of people to create all the people on the earth and each is important.

Lesson Idea #3 Heavenly Father loves me Exactly as I am
The next idea I have for you comes from this CFM manual prompt:
Invite the children to draw a picture of themselves. Share your testimony that Heavenly Father loves each of them and all of His children, no matter what they look like or where they are from.

I have drawn a really simple outline of a person. Your kids can fill it in to draw a picture of themselves to share with the class.
Lesson Idea #4 -I will follow Jesus Christ
The next Idea I have for you is a set of foot steps that say: “I am a Christian because I believe in and follow Jesus Christ”
This idea helps your class understand that by believing in and “following” in Christs footsteps they are followers of christ You might want to print several sets and lay them on the floor for your class to step on and “follow”

Lesson Idea #5- What does Christian Mean?
This next idea will help you further iterate this lesson objective: I am a christian because I believe in and follow Jesus Christ” I was inspired by this idea in CFM:
Ask the children to name different groups they belong to, such as their families or Primary class. Invite them to share reasons why they are grateful to be a Christian and belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. How can we show others we are Christians?

These little tags are meant to be made into simple yarn necklaces. You kids can wear them around there necks to proudly announce that they are christians that belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
Lesson Idea #6 The Story of Peter in the Bible
During the last section of our lesson we will learn about the story of Peter in the Bible and how he was freed from Prison because of his faithful prayer. This story is found in Acts 12: 1-17
I have created a coloring book that Illustrates Peters story in the Bible. This bible coloring book also includes the actual verses to share with your class. If you do not wish to use the booklet you can also share the individual full size coloring pages with your class as well.

Conclusion: The Word of God Grew and Multiplied
