The Son of Man Shall Come- Come Follow me Primary lesson helps include two fun ideas to use as you teach your class this Sunday!
This week as you teach in primary there are three central themes. Keeping these in mind as you teach will help you share this message with your class and will help you draw this comparison with the stories we will read together in the scriptures.
The Son of Man Shall Come-Lesson Themes:
- Before Jesus comes again, the gospel will be preached in all the world.
- I am responsible for my own conversion to the gospel.
- At the Final Judgment, we will give the Lord an account of our lives.
To help you teach each of these lessons I have first created a question and prompt sheet. I create one of these each week. I personally use this as my guide to teach each Sunday. It will help you stay on track. It will also encourage discussions about the lessons we are learning too. Given we only have 20
Lesson Idea #1 -“The Son of Man shall Come”
Once you have your question and prompt page ready to go you could really be done! But I have of course created several additional and more hands-on ideas to help you teach as well. This first idea comes from the first lesson theme: Before Jesus comes again, the gospel will be preached in all the world. I got this particular idea from the following prompt in CFM manual:
Ask each child to write the name of someone he or she can talk to about the gospel or invite to church. Also
ask the children to list things they can do to be missionaries now.
I created this fun coloring page that says ” I can be a missionary now” There are objects I drew around these words. Use these objects as prompts to ask your class how they can be a missionary now. For eaxample. The baseball may remind a student that by being a good example on their sports teams they can be a missionary.
Lesson Idea #2 Parable of The Ten Virgins
The second activity I created goes with the Parable of the
- Draw an oil lamp on the board, and label it testimony. Give each child a piece of paper shaped like a drop of oil, and ask each child to write on it something he or she will do to become more converted to the gospel. Attach their drops to the board around the lamp.
I have created an oil lamp, flameTenand oil drops for you. Encourage the students in your class to either write on their oil droplet somehow they can come more converted. If they can’t write simply ask them the share as they put their oil into the lamp. As the lamp fills with oil it will glow brighter (flame). Just as we had to put the oil into the lamp individually so must we work on our own testimonies as well.
