Learning about the Priesthood Keys
As we teach our classes about the power of the priesthood keys with the Bible will help you share where the priesthood came from, what the priesthood keys are used for, who holds the priesthood keys and how they are relevant in our lives today.
Priesthood keys and authority
Matthew 16: 15-19 tells us this about priesthood authority:
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Sonof the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
The priesthood keys are a vital part of our religion and the foundation upon which the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints has been built. I hope that this lesson help will allow you to teach this important principle with your classes this week.
Priesthood keys handout
To further teach this idea to your class I created these fun Keys. On each key is a verse from Matthew 16: 15-19 You can simply cut them out and put a key ring through the holes in each with a hole punch. I have also laminated mine for good measure. I think this will be a fun handout that will not only teach this “key” principle but will be a fun hand-out for your kids to also enjoy!

Preisthood Keys Foundation
I have also created this simple printable to display in your classrooms or at home. That says: ” Upon this rock, I will build my church”.\
