Week 13 He Works in me to do His Will Main Ideas
Lets start by talking about the main ideas for week 13. I like to begin here because it sets the foundation of your teaching. When you know what you are being asked to teach its much easier to do just that! Each week in your various Come Follow Me Manuals you will see bolded headings. These are the concepts that have been deemed important to discuss at home and at church. Lets take a look together at what the main ideas are this week below:
Main Ideas for Families -He works in me to do His Will

- The Lord will bless me when I keep the commandments.

Question and Prompt Pages for Teachers
The first tool I have for you is these questions and prompt pages. I create one for primary and one for Sunday school. These are a simple but hugely helpful tool you can use to teach on Sunday. These are bullet points of all the main ideas turned into actual questions you can ask your class. This will help you lead a meaningful discussion with your class. You will also find that there are important scripture references throughout. These will help you lean on the scriptures as you talk about each of the main ideas in this week’s lesson.
Activity for Families
I love the story of Enos praying in the wilderness and its one you get to teach your families this week. To bring the story to life I have done two things. First I created an illustration of Enos praying. Next I have used the following suggestion from your family CFM manual to create cards. Use these card to ask your family how their heartfelt prayers can be answered.
Enos’s experience with prayer is one of the most memorable in scripture. Your experiences may be less dramatic, but they don’t have to be less meaningful. Enos’s experiences might reveal ways to improve your prayers. Here are some questions to ponder:
- What words describe Enos’s efforts as he prayed?
- What did Enos initially pray for? (see Enos 1:4). What can you learn from Enos’s response after he received an answer? (see Enos 1:5–7).
- How did Enos act on the answers he received?
- What can you learn from Enos about how to have “unshaken” faith in the Lord? (Enos 1:11).
I hope you enjoy this fun activity with your families~

Lesson Idea for Primary Classes
Sing together a song about prayer, such as “A Child’s Prayer” (Children’s Songbook, 12–13). Invite the children to raise their hands every time they hear the word “prayer” or another repeated word. Testify of the power of prayer in your life.

Sunday School Work Pages
Lastly I have a set of work pages created for Sunday school teachers. Use these pages to dive deep into this main idea:
Our heartfelt prayers will be answered
this week the page is just one sided and it will include 3 different scriptures from enos. It will help your class understand that just like Enos prayed earnestly to the Lord and his prayers were answered. They too can call upon the Lord and their prayers will be answered.
