“Be Ye Reconciled to God”-2 Corinthians 1–7-September 9–15 primary lesson helps to help you teach the following ideas in fun colorful ways this sunday!
- Heavenly Father comforts me, and I can comfort others.
- I can forgive others.
- believe in being honest.
- I “walk by faith, not by sight.”
- Godly sorrow leads me to repent.
The following topics I just listed are all the bolded headings found in your Come Follow Me manual. I think its helpful to know them before you dive into planning your lesson so you know what principles you are being asked to teach.
Be Ye Reconciled to God- Question and Prompts-Lesson Outline
Fist up I have the most important tool I’ll share this week which is the Question and Prompt page. I share one of these each week! These are literal questions and prompts you can ask your class to help guide them through all of the lesson principles I listed above. These also include key scripture references to help you lean on the scriptures for clarity and understanding. If you are short on time this Q and P page is gold! It has all the main ideas and simple ways to introduce them to your class! I also think

Lesson Idea #1 Heavenly Father Comforts me and I can comfort others
The first Idea I have for you will help you teach :
Heavenly Father Comforts me and I can comfort others.
The idea I have for you is one that will help you teach your kids to use those scriptures as a study guide. I was inspired by this idea in the CFM manual:
As you read 2 Corinthians 1:3–4, ask the children to listen for an answer to the question “What does God do for us?” Help the children list ways in which God comforts us. Invite the children to share experiences when they were sad or worried or afraid and God comforted them.
To help you make this idea simple for your kids I created a little work page that includes the scriptures in 2nd Corinthians 1: 3-4 as well as the prompts that they can ponder. You can either use this to discuss aloud as a class or if your class is older they can fill it out themselves.

Lesson Idea #2- I Can Forgive Others
The next principle we will teach to our class is forgiveness. I created an original illustration that shows what happens when we ask for forgiveness. It also includes the scriptures in 2nd Corinthians 2: 7-8 and 10. These verses illustrate a story of the Paul encouraging the Corinthian saints to forgive a man who had sinned. Just like Paul wanted others to forgive we too can forgive others. I was inspired by the following prompt in CFM manual:
Explain to the children that Paul wanted the Corinthian Saints to forgive a man who had sinned. Read 2 Corinthians 2:7–8, 10, and invite the children to place their hands over their hearts every time they hear the words forgive and forgave.
Invite the children to role-play how they could respond in situations when someone has done something unkind. Let them take turns saying “I’m sorry” and “I forgive you.” How do we help people know that we forgive them? Explain that one way might be to “confirm your love,” or show love to them (2 Corinthians 2:8).
This illustration comes pre-colored (great for older kids) and uncolored for you kids to color themselves!

Lesson Idea #3- 13th Article of Faith – I belive in being honest
The next lesson idea I created are simple little 13th article of faith cards. We are asked to talk about “I believe in being honest” the 13th article of faith is a great way to teach the kids things they too can believe in for themselves. Use the following CFM idea to help guide this idea in your lesson:
Help the children memorize the phrase “We believe in being honest” (Articles of Faith 1:13).

Lesson Idea #4 I believe in being honest
The next suggestion for teaching ” I believe in being honest” was to write “We

Lesson Idea #5 I can forgive others -Forgiveness Hearts
The next idea is a simple printable that was inspired by this idea in the CFM manual:
Share an experience when you forgave someone—or someone forgave you—and how you felt afterward.
I created these simple hearts that include the verse from 2nd Corinthians 2:5 send these home and ask the kids to be reminded that they can forgive others and if they need to forgive someone challenge them to do so.

Lesson Idea #6- 2nd Corinthians 2:5 Forgiveness
Finally, I have
Tell the children that someone in Corinth had sinned and “caused grief” for the Saints (see 2 Corinthians 2:5). Ask the children to search 2 Corinthians 2:7–8 to find what Paul wanted the Saints to do.
