Now that you are familiar with the main ideas we have been asked to teach our families and classes at church I want to share with you the first idea for the week! This is an activity for families. One of the main focuses this week as we study is James 1:5:
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him

Family Prompt Cards for “Be ye Doers of the Word”
I know first hand what a challenge implementing Come Follow Me can be at home. Each week I offer these free little family prompt cards for you to use. keep these at your kitchen table as you eat dinner. Then ask your family questions about what we are learning this week! Use one card a night or filter through them as you see fit. Either way they will serve as a really simple way to remember and follow through with your Come Follow Me Study for the week. We often will use our iPad and listen to a chapter as we eat before diving into the cards. Its simple easy and my kids love it!
Primary Ideas for Be Ye Doers of the Word and not Hearers Only
This week for primary you could certainly use the idea I just shared for families! But I also have something specific for your primary classes. This idea
Give each child a simple drawing of a person speaking. Invite the children to hold it up when you say something nice we can do with our tongues (such as telling the truth, giving compliments, and offering to help someone) and put it down when you say something that we shouldn’t do with our tongues (such as telling lies, calling other people names, and refusing to obey a parent).
I Can Say Sweet Things Primary Activity

I’ve created a really simple but CUTE game full of sweets! Your kids are going to love it! Give a picture of the girl or boy to each member of your class. Then give them a set of sweets. Have them write on or say something sweet that they could tell another person. Have them then glue the sweets all around their girl or boy. This will help remind them to say sweet things in a cute and fun way!
Primary Question and Prompts-Be Ye Doers of the Word and not Hearers Only
To help you touch on each of the other main ideas for primary this week I have as always provided you with a question and prompt page. This is the outline of your lesson. I hope you love these as much as I do! I even use them at home! They are a series of questions and prompts you can ask directly to your class. As they answer you will touch on each topic we have been given to discuss this week. They are also riddled with scriptures and references to keep your eye focused on the scriptures. These will help bring to life what is being taught and also make it applicable to them today!
Sunday School Ideas for Be Ye Doers of the Word and not Hearers Only
I like to take the level of learning up a notch when it comes to Sunday school. These kids are smart and they are ready to really go deep with the ideas that are being taught in the New Testament. to help you achieve this type of study with your class I have created two work pages to use in class.

“Faith without works is dead.”
The first page will help your class study How faith and works are connected but from two perspectives. You might consider breaking your class into two groups let one discuss the left question and the other side discuss the right question (on the work page) Then come together and discuss them as a class.

Sunday School Question and Prompts Page
Just as I do each week with Primary there is also a Q and P page for you Sunday school teachers! This will be the foundation of your teaching. its a simple reference to each of this week’s topics to help you touch on each one with your class and stay on track!
