Be Thou an Example of the Believers-October 28th–November 3rd-1 and 2 Timothy; Titus; Philemon
Main Ideas-
To start us off I like to share what the main ideas of the lessons are this week. This is great to keep in the forefront of your mind as you teach. While I am sharing all that you would need to teach your classes at church or your families at home, Its also so important that you can let your own experiences and ideas shine through as you teach. Knowing the main ideas will help you be inspired to share thoughts and impressions as you teach the following ideas.
Individuals and Families- Be thou an example of the believers
- Who were Timothy and Titus?
- If I am “an example of the believers,” I can lead others to the Savior and His gospel.
- “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
- Living the gospel provides safety from the spiritual dangers of the last days.
- Who was Philemon?
- Followers of Christ forgive one another.
Primary- Be thou and example of the believers
- Bishops lead the ward as servants of God.
- I can be “an example of the believers.”
- The scriptures will help me learn truth
- Heavenly Father gave us scriptures to help us know truth from error.
- I should love eternal things more than money..
Sunday School- Be thou and example of the belivers
- Understanding true doctrine will help us avoid being deceived.
- If we are “example[s] of the believers,” we can lead others to the Savior and His gospel.
- “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
- Studying the scriptures can help us overcome the perils of the last days.
- Followers of Christ forgive one another.
Question and Prompt Lesson Outlines for Sunday School and Primary
I share these each week and I cannot stress enough that these are the back bone of your lesson. They are such a simple tool you can use to guide your class through your lesson top to bottom. This question and prompt page will help you stay on track. It will help you remember the afore mentioned main ideas in each lesson. But not only that it will help you dive deeper into each sub topic with your scriptures leading the way. I hope that these simple pages help make teaching so simple. They can be read verbatim or simply used as a reminder as you expound on each idea and work your way down the page. I try to keep them simple so that you will have time to get through each idea in the time you have with your class. Primary is a little tricker since you only have 20 minuets. But with this page you will get pretty darn close to making your way through each idea!
Primary Lesson Ideas- Be thou an example of the Believers
This week for primary I wanted to help you teach more about bishops. There are some scripture references about the bishop in the lesson such

Bishops Tie Scripture Scramble
I created all these fun ties that you will use to create this game. The instructions are above the scripture print out. You will assemble your “scripture ties” as instructed. Once assembled each tie will contain one verse of D & C SECTION 72:9-23. Each of these verses was revelation given to Joseph Smith about the duties of the bishop. Have them use the scriptures as their guide and assemble the ties in order that they appear in the scriptures. There are no verse numbers so they will have to read carefully to do so. This game is fun but will also help your class learn more about what our Bishops responsibilities are in the process! This would also be a fun FHE idea to implement at home!

Sunday School- Be thou an example of the Believers Lesson Ideas
Now that I’ve shared a fun idea to teach Primary lets dive into Sunday school! Sunday school is always fun because you get to deep dive a little further into the doctrine and I love that so much! to help you do this deep dive I have created a fun worksheet. This work sheet will help you teach:
Followers of Christ forgive One Another

This is such an important principle to teach. I love that we can use scripture stories and instruction like that given from Paul to teach this idea. With this worksheet you’ll be able to teach your class the following
- What is Paul’s Epistle?
- Who is Philemon
- Compare Paul and the Savior writing prompt
- What has helped YOU learn about forgiveness?
- Scripture references about forgiveness in the scripture to help to teach
Sciptures protect us against the perils of the last days
The next idea in Sunday school you can use these Scripture prints do share with your class. You will be talking about how scriptures protect us against the perils of the last days. There are 8 scripture references that will provide helpful protection if we follow them. Directions on the print out will help you use these in your class

Families and Individuals Come Follow Me Ideas for October 28- November 3rd-
The last ideas I have for you this week in come follow me October 28-Nov 3rd is a fun activity you can do with your family. I wanted to make this idea a little more interactive. But I thought it would also be fun to make it fall themed!

Good Works Activity Lesson
I illustrated a picture of a girl doing good works. There are leaves that you can print out separately that will be an interactive lesson with your family. When you are done you can attach the leaves to the image of the girl and her tree and hang them up to remind you and your family of Good works you can do!

In addition I have little cards. You can use these as you see fit. The idea is that each card goes with one of the main ideas for the week. There are a total of 5. You can use one each night and read the verses they go with or spread them out its up to you. They will prompt you with some questions to ask your family or yourself as you read your CFM studies this week. Brining deeper meaning to what you are reading.
